Four students from Antique- Hamtic Campus (UA-HC) bravely faced the challenge to represent the University of Antique (UA) in the Farm and Industry Encounters through the Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA) Cooking Competition conducted by Western Visayas Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVAARRDEC) last April 21, 2022 at Ilo-ilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U).

Student participants Jizza J. Alagos, Rose Melliel Danao, Hanna Jane Escalante and Christian Blanco together with their coaches traveled to the venue on the aforementioned date for the said competition.

Out of twelve teams from Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs) of WESVAARRDEC, UA emerged as Third placer presenting their dish called “JUAn’s Darag in Alupidan De Coco”.

 

Capiz State University (CapSU) Dumarao stood victorious as Firts Place with their Darag Native Chicken Pares and CapSU Pilar took the spot as Second Place with their dish Manok De Playa.

The Cooking Competition was held as part of the event Native Chicken FIESTA 2022 with the theme “PADAYON: Sustainable Economy amidst Pandemic through Native Chicken Technology”.

The Final Ranking and awarding of the winners were held on May 13, 2022 during closing ceremony of the event.
